AGWA-UAW is a group of graduate workers from various departments across the University of Alaska campuses interested in fighting for better pay, healthcare, and working conditions for graduate workers. We believe a union for graduate workers is the only way to address these and other issues.

We have affiliated with UAW (International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America) to help us successfully form a union. UAW is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America. Over 100,000 employees in higher education have already chosen to join UAW, including Academic Student Employees at the University of Washington, University of California, Columbia University, and more.
