Contract Issues / Grievances

Any bargaining unit member who experiences an issue that violates our contract may address the issue according to the grievance procedure outlined in Article 18: Resolution of Disputes .

Please fill out the form below if you have an issue that you think may be grievable.

How does the grievance procedure work?

This is a multi step process. For any step, if the university's party does not respond within the allotted time (usually 10 working days) the grievance will automatically move to the next step. If the resolution offered at a step is not accepted by the grievant (you and the union) we may move to the next step. If we do not do so within the allotted time (usually 10 working days) the grievance will be considered resolved.

Grievances related to discrimination/harassment will be investigated by the Office of Equity and Compliance (OEC), or equivalent according to Title IX laws and procedures. We can also use the above grievance procedure starting at Step 3* and initiate interim/supportive measures while OEC is investigating.

You may have (and are encouraged to have) a Union Rep and/or legal representation at any and all grievance related meetings.
