Your Union Reps

Your Union Reps have been elected by members and are here to answer your union questions and help you navigate things like the grievance process.

You are encouraged to reach out to your Stewards and E-board members!

If you would like a Union Rep to be present for support or contract expertise at a meeting with a supervisor or UA staff, please email the Contract Enforcement Working Group at agwa-cewg(at)googlegroups.com

Your Union Stewards

Stewards are the first ‘point-of-contact’ for unit members who have questions about our union or potential grievances.

Stewards are expected to join a working group, work on Contract Enforcement issues in their area, and make an effort to engage in organizing efforts.  Each Steward position serves an ‘area’ with one Steward per ~30 bargaining unit members. The Stewards for each are elected by the dues-paying members of that area.

Re: Vacant Steward Positions

Per our bylaws: Section 3.3: In the event that no member in a jurisdiction accepts nomination for an available position in that jurisdiction, at the end of the nomination period (as described in Article 13 of these bylaws) the position will be offered for any interested unit member to accept nomination at any time during the term of office, interested unit members may then be approved by the executive board to act as a “pro tem” steward until the next membership meeting where they may be approved by a vote of the membership.
