The Executive Board is the by-laws defined and member elected leadership body for our local.
E-board officers (President, VP, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, Sergeant at Arms, Guide, and 3 Trustees) chair the other committees and working groups, manage the day-to-day operations of our local, handle grievances, run member meetings, and make decisions between membership meetings.

Organizing Committee
The 'OC' includes the E-board and other members and is responsible for general organization. OC members help the E-board with the various day-to-day operations of our local.

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee drafts member emails and communications, maintains our social media and website, and drafts informational materials and handouts.

Contact Enforcement Working Group

The Contract Enforcement Working Group takes lead on addressing grievances, including helping the member work through the grievance process and taking meetings with admin to discuss resolutions.
Discrimination & Harassment Working Group

The Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Working Group works specifically on cases of discrimination and harassment since the grievance procedures and working with Title IX are slightly different from other contract enforcement issues. They also collect and create resources for members experiencing harassment and discrimination.
The Political Working Group works to maintain relationships with and support from state legislators, especially important in AK because of our requirement for legislative approval! They also conduct candidate interviews for local and statewide elections to determine who AGWA-UAW 1907 will endorse.

Elections Committee
The Elections Committee oversees elections operations, including sending elections communications, checking the membership status of candidates and voters, and counting votes. Elections Committee members are not eligible for elected positions!
Healthcare Working Group

We will begin Healthcare negotiations in Fall 2025! The healthcare working group is preparing for these negotiations by researching our current plan and potential changes we would negotiate for, collecting feedback from members about their healthcare bargaining priorities, etc
